Greg Ives saw hard work pay off on Sunday with his driver, Alex Bowman, had the best finish of his Sprint Cup career. Easy come, easy go.

Wednesday, NASCAR fined crew chief Ives $10,000 for a rules violation at Kansas. Why? Lug nuts were not properly installed on his No. 88 car.

Yes, that's normally the car and chief of Dale Earnhardt Jr. But Bowman is driving, splitting time with Jeff Gordon, while Junior recovers from a head injury.

Ives might have a headache after being docked 10K.

As usual, NASCAR announced fines on Wednesday.
