Iconic Boston Celtics head coach and general manager Red Auerbach was as competitive as it gets, and it could occasionally boil over into more than simply taunting his opponents on the court with a well-timed victory cigar. Auerbach was even known to have mixed it up with the coaches and once, even the owner of the team Boston was squaring off against.
In the spirit of the historical deep dive inspired by the new HBO documentary series about the Celtics (aptly called "Celtics City"), the folks behind the "NBC Sports Boston" YouTube channel put together a clip looking back at Red's tenure at the helm of the team, specifically how he defended the Celtics like a bulldog.
