As one-sided as the United States national team’s victory became in the final of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup — and 5-2 is pretty much soccer’s equivalent of a four-game sweep in the NBA Finals — it is winning even more decisively in its continuing public relations battle against the U.S. Soccer Federation.
And it probably needs an overwhelming success in this venue, because it might be the best card the U.S. women have to play.
