There is disagreement among leadership at the University of Oklahoma regarding the potential expansion of the Big 12 conference, CBS Sports is reporting. University president David Boren is in favor of expansion, while Max Weitzenhoffer, chairman of the board of regents, is opposed.
Weitzenhoffer may have the upper hand. According to the Big 12, Boren would be beholden to a simple majority vote by the seven-member board. It’s not clear if Weitzenhoffer has the votes, but he did tell CBS, "I'm not alone," and that fellow regent Clay Bennett, owner of the Oklahoma City Thunder, is on his side of the expansion issue.
