In the latest set of rankings from the College Football Playoff selection committee, released Tuesday, Clemson and Alabama remained No. 1 and No. 2, but the other two teams in position for national semifinal berths were new.
Oklahoma, which had been No. 7 in the previous rankings, moved up to third after a victory over Texas Christian. Iowa, which had been No. 5, moved up to fourth after a win over Purdue that kept the Hawkeyes undefeated.
