Attorney John Q. Kelly, who represented the estate of Simpson's slain wife, Nicole, said the trophy was missing in 1997 after Simpson was found guilty in a civil suit for the deaths of Nicole and her friend, Ronald Goldman.
Kelly said he received a call from deputies who were searching Simpson's house for items to auction off to help the former NFL star pay the $33.
