Barcelona have officially confirmed that Robert Lewandowski has sustained an injury to the ‘semitendinosus muscle in his left thigh’, which he picked up during the team’s victory over Celta Vigo.
The club’s medical statement explained that his recovery will depend on how his body responds to treatment, but the outlook for the immediate future is not promising.
“The tests carried out this Sunday have confirmed that Robert Lewandowski has suffered an injury to the semitendinosus muscle in his left thigh.
“His return to team dynamics will be decided based on his progress,” read a statement from the club.
