It's not every day a college football powerhouse is knocked from the pinnacle of its sport, but that's what happened Friday when James Madison upset North Dakota State 27-17 in an FCS playoff semifinal.
The loss marks the first postseason loss for the Bison in 2,198 days, dating to 2010. NDSU's streak of five consecutive FCS championships is over as well.
The fourth-seeded Dukes jumped out to a 17-0 lead before the top team in FCS started playing like it. The Bison tied the game 17-17 in the third quarter before JMU put the clamp down in the fourth.
