North Carolina surprised everyone with its staunch defense on Saturday in a 61-57 win against No. 4 Virginia to secure its first ACC Tournament title since 2008. That was also the last time the Tar Heels swept both the regular-season and tournament championships.
Both UNC and Virginia played with the fire and aggression necessary to win a game of this magnitude. But the Tar Heels outscored the Cavaliers 33-29 in the second half, which was enough to earn the victory.
