Nebraska (10-14) concluded its nine-game road trip on Tuesday night with a single-game showdown against Kansas State (16-8). Following a nightmare opening third, the Huskers attempted a comeback but ended up falling 12-8.
Nebraska coughed up 11 runs to the Wildcats through the first three innings, nine in the first two, digging itself an 11-2 hole. Even after outscoring Kansas State 6-1 from there, the Huskers failed to get the bats going in the sixth and ninth, resulting in the loss.
The Wildcats finished with only eight hits for 10 RBIs. Kansas State delivered two home runs and also scored off a Nebraska error and a wild pitch.
