When former Alabama football coach Nick Saban retired and traded in his signature game day polo for a role each week on ESPN's 'College GameDay,' it's doubtful that the Crimson Tide legend had plans to attend this year's Sports Emmy Awards.
All the same, Saban has been nominated for his work on 'GameDay' in the category of "Outstanding Personality/Emerging On-Air Talent" at the 46th annual Sports Emmy Awards, set for April 20 at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City.
Joining Saban on the list of nominees are ESPN's Jason Kelce, Prime Video's Richard Sherman and Ryan Fitzpatrick, and TNT Sports' Jay Wright, the former Villanova men's basketball coach who led the Wildcats to two NCAA Tournament championships.
