N.H.L. Roundup: Quenneville Rises to Second in Wins, With 783

Jonathan Toews scored, Corey Crawford made 39 saves, and the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Canadiens, 2-1, on Thursday night in Montreal to extend their winning streak to nine games and move Coach Joel Quenneville into sole possession of second place in career N.H.L. victories.

Quenneville has 783 wins, one more than Al Arbour but still well behind the leader, Scotty Bowman, who has 1,244.

The Blackhawks have not lost since Dec. 27 against Carolina and will try to make it 10 straight Friday night in Toronto. Ryan Garbutt also scored in the first period.
