N.H.L. Roundup: Kings Hold Off Flyers for Fifth Straight Win

Dwight King and Drew Doughty scored first-period goals, Jonathan Quick made 29 saves, and the Los Angeles Kings beat the visiting Philadelphia Flyers, 2-1, on Saturday for their fifth straight victory.

Quick was trying to record his 41st career shutout and break a tie with Frankie Brimsek and John Vanbiesbrouck for the most shutouts in the N.H.L. by an American-born goaltender. But with 12 minutes 10 seconds to go in the third period, Brayden Schenn spoiled Quick’s chance, scoring a power-play goal against his former team.

Philadelphia’s Michal Neuvirth, who had sat out the previous five games because of an illness, made 30 saves in his first start since Dec.
