N.H.L. Roundup: Devils Shut Out Senators; Capitals Win Ninth in a Row

The Devils’ Mike Cammallari scored his 13th and 14th goals of the season nine minutes apart in the first period, and Corey Schneider recorded 36 saves to shut out the Senators, 3-0, in Ottawa on Wednesday night.

Cammallari got the opening goal unassisted on a power play and scored again a little over 18 minutes into the first period on an assist from Travis Zajac.

Lee Stempniak finished the scoring with an unassisted empty-netter with 16 seconds to play.

Before the game, the Devils signed goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood to a three-year entry-level contract. Blackwood, 19, was selected by the team in the second round of the draft over the summer.
