NHL isn't seriously about player safety if Orpik hit doesn't get a suspension

Game 2 between the Penguins and Capitals featured the kind of hit that no one wants to see, and could (read: should) result in a suspension.

In the first period, Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik delivered a high hit to Penguins defenseman Olli Maata and that left Maata clearly dazed struggling to get off the ice.

This hit would undoubtedly result in a suspension if it happened in the regular season, and the league tends to reserve suspensions for extreme cases in the postseason, but this certainly looks like it qualifies.
