The first round of the NHL Draft may have been relatively light on Canadian players selected, but it had plenty of trades.
A total of seven trades dotted Friday's first round, highlighted by a pair of marquee playoff performers in center Andrew Shaw and goalie Brian Elliott.

The night's trades were as follows:
1. Chicago traded Shaw to Montreal for two second-round picks (39th, 45th overall).
2. Montreal sent center Lars Eller to Washington for second-round picks in 2017 and 2018.
