NHL announcer 'calls' Conor Gillaspie's home run in NL wild-card game

Matt Sammon has worked for the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning since 2006, but on Wednesday night he was a baseball savant.

About two hours before the Giants closed out a 3-0 win over the Mets in New York, Sammon facetiously tweeted a prediction of the game's outcome.

This performance by Noah Syndergaard is just setting up the inevitable game-winning homer by Conor Gillaspie.

Yup, Sammon was exactly right.

Mets ace Syndergaard and San Francisco ace Madison Bumgarner were locked in a 0-0 pitchers' duel through seven innings.
