The Washington Redskins got two rushing touchdowns from Chris Thompson, and a late touchdown pass from Kirk Cousins to Ryan Grant, holding off the much-improved Los Angeles Rams in a 27-20 victory on the road.
Cousins, who had not done much leading up to the final scoring drive, finished the day a modest 18 for 27 for 179 yards and the one touchdown, but when his team needed him most with the score tied 20-20, he went 4 for 4 for 51 yards, finding Grant for the go-ahead score.
