James Washington was supposed to help soften the blow of the offseason departure of Amari Cooper.
Now he'll have to wait to make his Dallas Cowboys debut. The fifth-year wide receiver who joined the Cowboys from the Pittsburgh Steelers as a free agent sustained a foot fracture at training camp on Monday. He needs surgery and is expected to miss up to 10 weeks, according to multiple reports.
His absence will further stretch a Cowboys receiving corps that expected to start Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers without Michael Gallup as he continues to recover from an ACL tear suffered in January.
