With the mid-season trade deadline approaching on Nov. 5, the Detroit Lions are reaching out to other teams in search of a defensive end after the injury to Aidan Hutchinson, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The biggest issue for the Lions is financial resources considering they have already re-signed a number of players, severely restricting them in the type of defensive end they could acquire.
Detroit would need to rely heavily on the cooperation of another team, and Schefter noted the Lions could be interested in Browns defensive end Za'Darius Smith.
While Detroit has high hopes of finalizing a trade before the deadline, they are also content with their current defensive lineup if there isn't a breakthrough, according to Schefter.
