The NFL is truly embracing the idea that there is no offseason.
The NFL will launch a four-team spring league in April consisting, of four teams veteran free agents, according to SiriusXM NFL Radio.
Players on current NFL rosters will not be allowed to participate. The four teams will play a six-game schedule from April 5-26.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said earlier this year the league was considering some sort of developmental league. While the league gets most of its players from the college ranks, NFL teams do occasionally pluck players from the Arena Football League and Canadian Football League.
