The San Francisco 49ers were supposed to be the class of the NFC West entering the 2023 season. So far, they've delivered on that promise. Brock Purdy looks like the real deal after last year's success, Christian McCaffrey won't stop scoring touchdowns and Brandon Aiyuk is an underrated star receiver.
Problem is, those pesky Seattle Seahawks refuse to step aside and give the 49ers their moment. For all the ink spilled about the 49ers, the 6-4 Seahawks are very much in the race for the division. With a win over the 49ers on Thursday, both teams would have identical records, but the Seahawks would hold the division lead.
