NFL suspensions are giving teams unfair advantages, players argue

The suspensions NFL commissioner Roger Goodell hands down doesn't just affect the teams — it affects the competition within the league. At least that's what NFLPA president Eric Winston claims.

In the aftermath of Deflategate, Winston said the fair competition in the NFL has been skewed because of all the player suspensions.

"I think the one thing that has been lost in this conversation is how much it’s affected competitive balance throughout the league,” Winston said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. "The NFL is always so big on competitive balance but you see these random suspensions that have been handed down over the last two, three years, it’s definitely affected competitive balance.
