Jacksonville Jaguars star edge-rusher Josh Allen is "largely expected" to receive the $24 million franchise tag this offseason, as ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported on Sunday's SportsCenter, though "they haven't done it yet, so we'll see."
Allen, 26, had a career year in 2023, registering 66 tackles (17 for loss), 17.5 sacks, 33 quarterback hits, an interception, two forced fumbles and a pass defensed. His tackles for loss, sacks and quarterback hits were all career highs.
He played the past season on his $10.8 million fifth-year option, though the two sides weren't able to agree on a long-term extension.
