The New York Giants' quarterback depth took a hit on Friday.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Giants signal-caller Drew Lock suffered a "bad" bone contusion as well as strained oblique during the team's 14-3 preseason victory over the Detroit Lions on Thursday night.
Rapoport noted that surgery isn't required, although New York could still search for other options at quarterback as Lock is expected to miss "some time."
The 27-year-old signed a one-year, $5 million deal with the Giants on March 12.
