NFL Rumors: Aaron Donald Amended Contract, Helped Rams Salary Cap Before Retirement

While Aaron Donald's retirement means that he won't be helping the Los Angeles Rams on the field in 2024, he at least is helping the team when it comes to the salary cap.

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk reported that Donald and the Rams reconstructed his contract prior to the 10-time Pro Bowler's retirement announcement.

"Per a source with knowledge of the terms, the Rams restructured the deal on Tuesday, March 12," Florio wrote. "Specifically, the Rams converted a $5 million guaranteed roster bonus to a signing bonus. The Rams also converted the bulk of his $10 million salary to an option bonus, dropping the base salary to the minimum of $1.
