The deadline for NFL teams to cut their active rosters to 53 players is 4 p.m. ET Saturday, but teams began trimming their rosters Friday.
Just because a player makes the initial 53-man roster doesn't mean he's safe. NFL teams will be scouring the waiver wire and can claim released players beginning Sunday at noon ET. Teams can also start signing up to 10 players for their respective practice squads beginning 1 p.m. ET Sunday.
