The NFL continues to discuss internally potential ways to buttress the video replay system following another high-profile blunder in a recent Monday night game, and momentum continues to grow for expanding the times and instances in which the central officiating command in New York can prevent on-field miscues in real time, sources said.
Commissioner Roger Goodell would support altering the current system to some degree, and the league is bracing for an onslaught of proposals from teams on replay changes following two weeks of potentially very costly mistakes. Ultimately, those changes go to the Competition Committee and then before a vote of the full ownership, and this will be a hot topic at the spring owner's meeting.
