The NFL said Wednesday night it is considering a lawsuit against The New York Times over the newspaper's front-page report last week about what it said was the league's "flawed concussion research and ties to the tobacco industry."
The league is "reserving the right" to pursue a defamation suit against the Grey Lady over the story, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy (no relation) told Sporting News in a telephone interview.
