N.F.C. Championship Live Updates: Eagles Benefit From 49ers Penalties, Lead, 28-7

The Eagles, after three miserable drives, have scored on consecutive possessions, both aided by San Francisco mistakes, to go ahead, 21-7, at halftime.

The most recent touchdown, a 10-yard run by Boston Scott, came three plays after Haason Reddick forced his second fumble of the day, which he also recovered.

Before that, Philadelphia regained the lead on a 14-play possession defined not by any marvelous or magical moments but by three critical penalties called against San Francisco, all of which gave them automatic first downs. The go-ahead touchdown was a tactical masterpiece, with Miles Sanders running off left tackle, behind blocks and away from the star linebackers Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw, to score from 13 yards out.
