CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Vernon Butler loves shoes. More specifically, he has a special affinity for Air Jordans.
Should the newest Panthers defensive tackle ever want to meet the Nike shoe's namesake, he won't have to go far.
"It would be pretty nice to meet Michael Jordan," Butler said Friday at Bank of America Stadium as the Panthers introduced their first-round draft pick to the media. The former Louisiana Tech defensive tackle then admitted to owning about 30 pairs of Jordans.

Butler may be excited to soon be living in the same city as the Charlotte Hornets owner, but when asked what his "most-prized" pair of shoes is, he said "the ones I've got on right now.
