In a story that won’t make athletes any more comfortable about their upcoming stays in Rio for the Summer Games, Jason Lee, a jiu-jitsu champion from New Zealand, said he was kidnapped by the city’s police Sunday and forced to pay an unwarranted and sketchy fine.

Lee, who is not part of New Zealand’s Olympic delegation (jiu-jitsu is not an Olympic sport), was pulled over by two armed police officers on motorbikes and was told they would be conducting a routine search for drugs and weapons.
