The New York Giants signed quarterback Russell Wilson to a one-year, $10.5 million free agent deal that could nearly double in value if he hits on all of his incentives.
The 36-year-old Wilson's deal is structured as such, per Spotrac: $8 million signing bonus, $10.5 million guaranteed. Wilson will earn a base salary of $2 million, a signing bonus of $8 million and a workout bonus of $500,000, while carrying a cap hit of $10.5 million.
The deal is based heavily on incentives, mostly centered on playing time and, yes, winning games.
The Giants put together a deal that is favorable and fair for both parties.
