LAS VEGAS — Phil Jackson was consistent in his approach to free agency. When Jackson, the president of the Knicks, sat down last week with Arron Afflalo and Robin Lopez in separate meetings, it did not take long for Jackson to set up his laptop so Afflalo and Lopez could watch film of the triangle offense.
“I thought it was interesting,” Afflalo said. “I didn’t expect it.”
If Jackson’s methods were unconventional, Afflalo and Lopez were sufficiently impressed — and compensated — to sign with the Knicks this week as Jackson continued to reshape the team.
