The Gamecocks cruised in the first 10 minutes, to say the least, ending the period with a 22-8 lead over the Huskies.
Long, tough possessions off of forced Huskies turnovers defined the early minutes of the game. At one point, Aliyah Boston fought through a triple team, keeping the ball alive about five separate times before eventually scoring. The Gamecocks fought through contact, grabbed five offensive rebounds in the first four minutes, and jumping out to an 11-2 lead by the first media timeout.
Olivia Nelson-Ododa broke a five-minute scoring drought for the Huskies, but South Carolina was able to answer easily.
