SAN ANTONIO — Juggernauts are not supposed to look like this, without a superstar, a catchy nickname, a lineup of future N.B.A. all-stars, or the air of intimidation and moxie that is palpable even in layup lines. Villanova has none of these things.
But it has maintained a tactical, almost apologetic dominance throughout this N.C.A.A. tournament. And for a second time in three years, the Wildcats are the last team standing. This time, they rode sixth-man Donte DiVincenzo to an easy 79-62 victory over Michigan.
In a year in which players wore a uniform patch in honor of the late Rollie Massimino, coach of Villanova’s upstart 1985 championship team, Villanova won its first five games in the tournament by double digits.
