It’s been a rocky start for the 2016 draft class, beginning with the foot injury suffered by top pick Ben Simmons, who could return after the All-Star break.
No member of the draft class is averaging double-digit scoring, and the top rebounder is Brandon Ingram, averaging only 4.0 per game. Only 12 first-rounders have logged more than 200 minutes, and of the 42 players who have appeared in games, 22 are shooting below 40 percent from the field.
But there have been some flashes of potential out there. We had an NBA scout break down the play of 10 prominent first-rounders from the class of 2016, and while there is much improvement needed, we’re a long way from losing hope on these guys.
