Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg was a big winner Monday night, and it didn't even matter what happened on the field at Nationals Park.
The Nationals have agreed to a seven-year, $175 million contract extension with the right-hander, according to multiple reports. The Washington Post's Chelsea Janes was the first to report the extension while MLB Network's Jon Heyman was first with the terms, which include an opt-out clause and deferred money.

The deal is expected to be announced Tuesday morning.
Strasburg, 27, has spent his entire seven-year MLB career with the Nationals, but could have become a free agent after this season.
