In NASCAR’s annual return to its roots, Camping World Truck Series drivers traded in the asphalt ovals for the slinging and sliding of the sanctioning body's only national series dirt race Wednesday night.
In front of a capacity crowd of more than 20,000 at the half-mile clay track of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, Sprint Cup regular Kyle Larson took home the Eldora golden shovel after overcoming adversity early in the race.

The 150-lap race divided into three segments of 40, 50 and 60 laps was controlled by pole sitter and local dirt racer Bobby Pierce for 102 laps until transmission troubles led to a wreck for the 19-year-old.
