NASCAR star Carl Edwards won't drive in 2017, report says

Popular NASCAR driver Carl Edwards will not compete in 2017, FoxSports.com reported Tuesday, saying he is leaving Joe Gibbs Racing "to pursue other interests outside of driving."

FoxSports.com said it learned of the stunning move from multiple unidentified sources.

According to the report, JGR will announce Wednesday that reigning Xfinity Series champion Daniel Suarez will replace Edwards as the driver of the team’s No. 19 Cup series Toyota.

Representatives for Edwards and Joe Gibbs Racing declined comment to FoxSports.
