NASCAR is reportedly not making significant changes to the rules package for the upcoming restrictor-plate races at Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway.
Despite three crashes in which cars came off the track in May 1's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Talladega, NASCAR executive vice president Steve O'Donnell told ESPN on Friday that the sanctioning body opted not to make changes for the upcoming race.
The season's second race at Daytona, the Coke Zero 400, is scheduled for July 2. The second Talladega race, Oct. 23's Alabama 500, completes the second leg of the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
