On the same day that NASCAR announced it was prohibiting the presence of the Confederate flag at all events, driver Ray Ciccarelli announced he would be leaving the sport at the end of the season due to his disagreement with the new policy.
Ciccarelli announced the decision via Facebook, which he's since taken down but was captured by Gabriel Fernandez of CBS Sports:
"Well its been a fun ride and dream come true but if this is the direction Nascar is headed we will not participate after 2020 season is over , i don't believe in kneeling during Anthem nor taken ppl right to fly what ever flag they love.
