Last weekend, Jimmie Johnson joined Denny Hamlin as winners of Sprint Cup races in 2016. Atlanta was Johnson's 76th career victory, tying him with Dale Earnhardt for seventh all time.
As NASCAR begins its three-race swing through western states, Johnson has an opportunity to pass "The Intimidator," starting with Sunday's Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In 14 Las Vegas starts, Johnson has five top-five finishes and eight top 10s. He won three consecutive races at the Nevada track from 2005-07.
