Thanks to Denny Hamlin's close victory at Daytona over Martin Truex Jr. and Kevin Harvick's win by a hair over Carl Edwards last Sunday at Phoenix, the average margin of victory this season is 0.232 seconds — the closest margin over the first four races since the inception of electronic timing and scoring in 1993 (Note: This year’s Atlanta race ended under caution and therefore is not included in the average).
