The Eagles and Giants were supposed to match the fireworks of the new “Star Wars” trailer on Monday night. Instead they played a football game better suited for 1977, a sloppy, unsightly, turnover-filled battle in prime time.
Ultimately the Eagles came out on top 27-7, but they shouldn't feel much better about themselves for it. But you know what? Philly's sitting in first place of the NFC East now.
As the 2014 NFC South proved, it doesn't matter how pathetic your division is. Win it and you're in the playoffs. The Eagles (3-3) can easily claim class of the division in the NFC Least and Chip Kelly should sleep well knowing all the critics crowing up two weeks ago have to be quiet for a little bit longer.
