Mohamed Salah has signed a new £20 million-a-year contract at Liverpool, bringing the formal end to epic negotiations.
After a breakthrough in talks with sporting director Richard Hughes earlier this week, the attacker put pen to paper on a two-year extension, keeping him at Anfield until 2027.
From the outset, it was evident all parties wanted to reach an agreement to keep the legendary figure at the club.
Liverpool took the position that whatever deal was reached could not compromise their financial model as they look to strengthen the squad this summer.
They could not afford to pay Salah or any of their stars the kind of salaries they might have been offered elsewhere.
