Major League Baseball, like the Pirates, is waiting for Jung Ho Kang's sexual assault investigation in Chicago to be completed before deciding on how to discipline the infielder.
“We are aware of the situation and are working with law enforcement,” baseball commissioner Rob Manfred told reporters Tuesday, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, prior to the All-Star Game in San Diego. “We will make a decision when we have sufficient facts as to whether application of, for example, the administrative leave provisions in the new policy are applicable.”
