The Cubs are close to getting left-handed reliever Justin Wilson from the Tigers in a deal that would send third baseman Jeimer Candelario back to Detroit, reports Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports. Ken Rosenthal of MLB Network reports a deal is "close" as well, but throws in that the Cubs would also get catcher Alex Avila. He notes that Candelario and "at least one other" player would go to the Tigers.
Wilson, 29, is in the midst of a great season for the Tigers.
