The struggling St. Louis Cardinals lost two games to the Reds in Cincinnati on Saturday, the first of them the completion of a game that had been suspended because of rain.
The Cardinals have lost the first three games of the teams’ four-game series. Their lead in the National League Central fell to three games over the Pirates and five games over the Cubs.
In the first game, the rookie Adam Duvall hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Reds to a 4-2 win in a contest that was stopped in the top of the inning on Friday night.
