Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks left Saturday's National League Division Series game against the San Francisco Giants in the top of the fourth inning after taking an Angel Pagan line drive off his right arm.
Manager Joe Maddon and a trainer came onto the field to examine Hendricks, and he was deemed unable to continue.
Travis Wood took Hendricks' place and struck out Conor Gillaspie to end the inning. Wood then stepped up and hit a home run in the bottom of the inning. He is just the third Cubs pitcher to hit a postseason home run, joining Kerry Wood (2003 NLCS) and Rick Sutcliffe (1984 NLCS).
